What is Noir?

Noir is a state of being in which the world & human nature are hopeless, deceitful, fearful, wrecked, insignificant, miserable, melancholic, bleak, disillusioned, despairing, desperate, cynical, pessimistic, paranoid, & alienated. This state of mind expressed itself artistically in the classic film noir period of the 1940s & 1950s. Today, things feel nourish all over again. What was old becomes new, with a twist.
